When I was asked to review a restaurant of my own choice based in Edinburgh, I immediately had the perfect idea in my mind. Edinburgh is not only a gorgeous city full of marvellous architectures, arts and history, but is also a culinary gem offering a wide range of captivating eateries.
When I am in the mood for spending a pleasant night enjoying delicious drinks and exotic dishes, I exactly know where to go: Maison Bleue Restaurant. Based in the central Victoria Street, this eclectic restaurant presents an exquisite fusion between French, North African and Scottish cuisine, all presented in a colourful and alluring structure, owned by the talented chef Dean Gassabi.
Victorian carpets and North African plates decorate this elegant location characterized by a delightful and relaxing atmosphere. Its menu is a triumph of exceptional dishes, such as the South Vietnamese coconut chicken, a real explosion of fresh flavours. Its tender meat and delicate sweet basil and lemongrass sauce, make this main course one of my favourite cravings.
Maison Bleue restaurant is the ideal for both meat and seafood lovers thanks to its extensive lunch, pre-theatre and dinner menus, all accompanied by an extraordinary wine list and efficient service.
