Toots Play Café

Edinburgh’s first play café for the under 5’s. Toots is designed to offer a stimulating environment for babies and younger children as well as a relaxing and cosy one for adults. Rather than a daunting play structure, we’ve opted for traditional toys that allow imaginative play, so you can feel comfortable letting your children explore while you can sit and relax with a cuppa and make use of our free WIFI.
Older children are more than welcome, free of charge when accompanying a younger child, although we have designed the play floor specifically for those aged 0-5.
There is no need to book, parking is free and you can stay and play as long as you like.

As a mother of a lively youngster, I know first-hand how challenging it is to find a safe and stimulating environment for your children, which is also relaxing for you. Having spent a lot of time with children I know what they like and what works and does not work from a parent’s point of view.
Large play structures can often be daunting for the more timid child and terrifying for parents of the more adventurous child.
Parent and toddler groups provide a good age appropriate environment but are often only open for a couple of hours a week.
I couldn’t find anything in Edinburgh that was both relaxing for parents whilst being fun and safe for the smaller ones.
I wanted to create something different from the typical play centre with no big kids on the play floor and toys galore for your little angels to play safely and happily.
